DIGITAL MEDIA CENTRE

9 May 2017 saw the long-awaited opening of the Digital Media Centre at Stationers' Crown Woods Academy. This was a very proud moment for the Company; for those who worked to bring the project to fruition and for those who donated money, equipment and furniture.

Lucy Marsh of Stationers' Crown Woods Academy writes:

Advancements in digital technology are changing the way we live, work and communicate, and as today’s digital pioneers young people are at the forefront of this change.  Stationers’ Crown Woods are using the Digital Media Centre to create a new, technology rich environment and approaches to learning which give students confidence and skills to negotiate the challenges ahead.

The DMC is located on the ground floor of the William Morris building and includes a Digital Learning room,  a flexible Creative Suite and a digital studio.

Thanks to our fantastic partnership with the Worshipful Company of Stationers we are able to offer our students links to industry experts in the media field.

Our vision for the Digital Media Centre is:

  • To provide our students with links to industry experts and the opportunity to produce industry standard projects.
  • To enter our students into national and international competitions for their productions.
  • To have a student led Media Crew who work on projects around the school.
  • To embed Media Literacy across the curriculum at all levels.
