Freeman Annie Quigley is celebrating her 40th anniversary as a bookseller at  Bibliophile

Annie Quigley is celebrating her 40th anniversary as a bookseller at Bibliophile, 'marking four decades of dedication to the independent bookselling community.' Under her ownership since 1992, the company has grown four times in size, and
on its entire database nearly 300,000 avid booklovers have at one time during the four decades been receiving the free mail order catalogue and been offered over half a million different titles. The company is still privately owned, and all staff have remained loyal for two decades or more and enjoy a profit share scheme. Customers complimentary letters and even gifts arrive daily.

In October 1985, as a recent graduate in Spanish, Annie walked through the
doors of St. Martin’s Lane bookshop just off Charing Cross Road which was
then the home of Bibliophile Books and that was where the story began!
Booksmith Wholesale soon followed and international travel, buying and selling remaindered stock under the tutelage of some great names in the
international and UK trade, and working with top publishers and booksellers.
