NEW BACKSTAGE VIDEO LIFTS THE LID ON LIVE WEBCAST PRODUCTION FOR SMES

29 JULY 2024

New backstage video lifts the lid on live webcast production for SMEs

Small and medium-sized businesses thinking about webcasting to reach a national or global audience can go behind the scenes of a live TV-style production and see how a live web event is put together.

Enbecom Studios produces engaging live webinars and webcasts which deliver a budget-friendly TV show look and feel to a business or brand's audience, instead of having people dial in to a basic video call.

They’ve put together this five-minute video taking viewers virtually backstage at the production of an hour-long road safety webinar.

Using dedicated hardware, the team bring in live contributor feeds over Zoom or Teams and can direct the presenter and guests through their usual headset or earphones. Combining these feeds with pre-recorded videos, presentations, audience Q&A sessions, live branded name straps and slick opening and closing sequences, events are mixed together in real time, streamed to a wide range of platforms and recorded as a future marketing asset for the business.

Neil Barrett, Enbecom’s managing director, explains more about the hardware: “We have professional kit with a direct connection to Zoom’s servers, which feeds each guest’s video and audio completely independently into our mixer. This gives us the power to do a lot of clever stuff with their contributions, presenting their interactions in the best possible way for audiences.”

The firm also has the ability to run live quizzes and voting - with participants simply using their smartphone or computer – as well as app demos, with direct feeds from a variety of iOS and Android devices into the broadcast, avoiding having a presenter attempt to juggle demonstrating an app with trying to hold their phone up to a camera and talk about the product simultaneously.

To maximise accessibility, they can also arrange subtitling, international translation and British Sign Language interpretation.
