CHARTER DINNER 2024

1 MAY 2024

Charter Dinner 2024

The Charter Dinner celebrates the granting of the Company's Royal Charter by Queen Mary Tudor on 4 May 1557. Official Company guests were invited to dinner, that included the chief executives of our Corporate Members, chairmen of affiliated Trade Associations, with their chief executives and senior executives from our main suppliers.

We were delighted that Liveryman The Rt Hon the Lord Hague of Richmond agreed to be our guest speaker at this event. The Rt Hon Lord Hague of Richmond, William Hague, served for 26 years in the British House of Commons until he stood down in 2015. In that time, he served in many senior roles, including Leader of the House of Commons, but is best known as the Leader of the Conservative party, 1997-2001, and First Secretary of State and Foreign Secretary, 2010-2014. He now pursues a wide range of business and charitable activities, and is a well-known writer of historical biographies and a columnist of The Times. In November 2020 Lord Hague became Chair of the Royal Foundation of The Prince and Princess of Wales

The Charter dinner commenced with a champagne reception  in the Court Room and was followed by a four-course dinner served in the Hall.  Carriages ended the evening of what was a successful evening attended by 190 guests.
