Stephen Platten Trevor Fenwick Robert Flather
The Company is managed by a Court chaired by the Master, who is assisted by two Wardens. The Master serves for one year and acts as the ambassador of the Company throughout our industries and within the City of London.
The Master, Trevor Fenwick, is Executive Chairman and co-founder of Euromonitor International, the leading provider of online international marketing research data and analytics.
He is a Board member of the PPA, and past Chair of the UK and European Data Publishers Associations. He has been actively involved with UK and European government in advising on issues surrounding intellectual property, is a past member of the Advisory Panel on Public Sector information and the Legal Deposit Advisory Panel. He is a Trustee of the St Bride Foundation.
He has a strong commitment to social mobility through academic and vocational training especially where relevant to the data and information industries.
The Upper Warden, the Right Reverend Dr Stephen Platten, was educated at Stationers’ Company’s School and then at the University of London, Trinity College, Oxford and trained for the priesthood at Cuddesdon College, Oxford. He worked for three years initially for Shell International at Shell Centre in London before training as a teacher and then offering for ordination. He served as the Archbishop of Canterbury’s Foreign Secretary under Robert Runcie, travelling widely. Appointed Dean of Norwich in 1995, he headed up the Cathedral’s 900th Anniversary celebrations. In 2003 he was consecrated Bishop of Wakefield.
The Under Warden, Robert Flather, was educated at Oundle and Sheffield University. He started his working life as an graduate engineer in the steel industry before joining Book Printer Clays in Bungay as General Manager of the bindery. He became Chief Engineer at Jarrolds before joining Kolbus UK, the well-known manufacturer of bookbinding and more recently packaging machinery.
He is a Past Chairman of Picon, the Trade Association for machinery suppliers to the Printing, Papermaking and Paper Converting industries and also served as President of Global Print, the International Association of National Trade Associations for the Industry.
