Maurice Hartnett, Deputy Principal of SCWA writes:
"On Thursday the 21/04/2016 we had our final stage 3 assessment for the Investors in Careers award. I am happy to report that we have successfully achieved this industry standard award after 3
assessments. The assessments involved producing portfolios of evidence for each stage against the award criteria, meetings with governors, staff and students, throughout each assessment day.
The assessor was highly complimentary of the careers work that takes place at the academy.
Of particular note are our links with the Stationers' Company and the active involvement of the members in the academy. The support that the mentoring program gives our young people along with your members involvement in careers days and careers talks was noted as a real strength and not something that every academy can offer its pupils. The professional way in which everybody within the academy approaches careers and how it is embedded in everything that we do was regarded as exceptional. Seeing minutes from meetings as well as notes from conference planning calls, and the way in which Jani (Levänen) and Tony (Mash) have been involved in the academy was not something that the

assessor had encountered in any other school or academy. To quote the assessor " you are very lucky with the level of involvement and support that you receive from the Stationers' Company".
The business mentoring scheme was also highlighted as of an exceptionally high standard and an opportunity that was really valued by the students.
I would like to thank you and all of the Stationers for the exceptional contribution that you have made to the academy and particularly in relation to the careers elements of your work and in helping us achieve this valuable industry standard award.

Kevin Dewey, Chairman of SCWA Governors, adds his appreciation of the work undertaken by Stationers saying " To all who share their time, talent and experience with our great students a big thank you from me and my fellow governors."
