Sue Pandit - lead Stationer Governor at Stationers’ Crown Woods.
Sue recently retired from a career largely in Higher Education. She was involved in printing and publishing education for several years both at Oxford Brookes University and the London College of Communication (previously London College of Printing). Her final position was as Dean of the School of Printing and Publishing at London College of Communication, University of the Arts. Sue has therefore been very involved in encouraging young people to enter the communications industry and has tried to help them address the challenges of finding good jobs as well as find ways to progress their careers in this sector.
Since retiring Sue has been increasingly involved in supporting a number of initiatives involving students at the Worshipful Company of Stationers. She was responsible for setting up a postgraduate bursary scheme which offers £6000 bursaries towards the fees for students on a range of MA courses including publishing, photojournalism, magazine journalism, digital media and packaging design.
Sue is now chairing Shine, the Stationers' School Media Awards initiative which encourages pupils at schools across the UK to participate in the creation of print and digital magazines. Shine is now in its 4th year and goes from strength to strength. Hundreds of schools enter their student-led magazines and then there is a wonderful awards event at Stationers' Hall every June.
As well as being a Governor of Stationers’ Crown Woods Academy, Sue also sits on the Governors' Sub-committee of Sherwood, one of the SCWA 11-16 schools, on Leigh Academies Trust's Academic Standards Committee and on the Stationers’/SCWA Curriculum Development Committee.
