Court Assistant Martin Woodhead writes: After nearly a year of negotiations, an historic agreement for the Company was signed on 19th August by the Clerk, William Alden, with Adam Matthew Digital for the further digitisation and publication of the Company’s archives. Adam Matthew is a subsidiary company of Corporate Member Sage Publishing.
This agreement marks a significant step forward in not only making the Company’s archives more widely available but also providing royalty income through the sale of the publication to academic and institutional libraries worldwide. Starting with the digitised images of the book registers, which the Company created two years ago in conjunction with the National Archives, Adam Matthew will be digitising the remaining archives and creating a searchable web-based platform of the whole. This will take 3 years to achieve after which the publication will be available to scholars, library users and members of the Company and their guests to view.
More information about the new agreement will be given in the December issue of Stationers’ News.
