At the DMG event on Monday, 8 May, which was organised by Court Assistant Paul Wilson, and moderated by Liveryman Peter Day a panel of experts discussed cash and its future in the UK.
The Panel consisted of (from L-R in the photo taken by Giles Fagan) Graham Mott, Head of Strategy and External Relations at LINK, Adrian Buckle, Chief Economist at Payments UK, Duncan McEwen, Senior Policy Advisor at the UK Cards and David Fagleman, Policy and Research Manager at Cash Services UK. Members will probably be aware that in many parts of the world cash is no longer king but the panel
discussion allowed attendees to conclude that in the UK the full gamut of payment options would be available for the foreseeable future with each option waxing and waning in popularity. However cash would remain a long-term fixture in our wallets. For more detailed coverage see the next edition of Stationers’ News.
