As many members will know there is a fantastic exhibition at the Guildhall on the history of the Stationers’ Company. Its official opening was on 1 June. There was a reception and then the Clerk delivered the first in a series of three lectures about the Company.
You can read the full text of his lecture here.
The exhibition will run until 31 August and is free to enter. One of our bursary recipients, Paul Outram, has been to see it and his piece on it covering the four sections of the exhibition will be featured in Stationers’ News. However for the best appreciation of the exhibition you should go! Why not time your visit with one of the two remaining talks.
On 13 July Liveryman Margaret Willes will deliver the second lecture which will be entitled “W.H. Smith is not the only Stationer”: Famous Stationers Through the Centuries (click here to book) and on 3 August Past Master Helen Esmonde will give the third lecture in the series entitled 'The Stationers' Company- From Genesis to Google' (click here to book).
