This event was well attended by members of the Stationers', Marketors' and Information Technologists' Companies and Stationer Phil Elder reports that it provided a multi-faceted insight into the issues of augmented reality. The Master, in his opening comments (see photo above) stressed the importance of such Inter-Livery events before introducing the evening's speakers who were:
- Omaid Hiwaizi of Blippar who gave an overview of the technology differentiating between virtual reality and augmented reality
- Alex Baxevanis of Webcredible who provided an in depth presentation of a system developed for Dulux which allows users to visualise the redecoration of their home and
- Richard Morris of Bird & Bird who gave an overview of some of the many legal implications of an augmented world and suggested that most of the legal obstacles were surmountable.
Liveryman James Duckenfield, Chairman of the Digital Media Group then invited questions from the floor. Over the usual buffet supper attendees were able to continue their discussions and visit the excellent demonstrations of the 'art' which were provided by Ravensbourne, Blippar (see photo below) and Hobs Studio.
