Past Master Tom Hempenstall alerts us to an item on BBC Breakfast news this morning (at circa 7.51 am) about James Cropper because of their coffee cup recycling programme,  Members will be aware that there is a proposal to impose a "latte levy" on coffee cups because of the impact their disposal is having on the environment.

Cropper's recycling process offers one way of tackling the mountain of take away coffee cups but the problem is so huge that it needs to be tackled at the purchase point as well as at the point of disposal.

The Stationers' Company recognised Cropper's  breakthrough technology in this area at the 2014 Stationers' Company Innovation Excellence Awards and in 2016 when the BBC's  War on Waste programme focused on the issue we asked Cropper's to comment.  You might like to revisit their article article here.
