On Friday, 1 March the Clerk and Stationers based in the south were part of a group of 26 to join a tour of The Hepworth Wakefield and Nostell Priory. This tour was organised by the Northern Stationers and led by Liveryman Robert McClements. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed themselves but there was a serious element to the day too as it allowed the Stationers to see the plaque recognising the Company’s support for School Prints 2019 (see photo) which seeks to bring contemporary art to school children in disadvantaged areas. The Clerk was also able to present a copy of The Stationers’ Company - A History of the latter years 1800-2000 to Nicola Freeman, Director, The Hepworth, and originator of the School Prints initiative (see photo below).
These events are proving to be a great success and all Stationers are encouraged to take advantage of the planning that sees travellers back into King's Cross by 7pm . Look out for next year's event.
