Many congratulations from all of us go to Liveryman Chris Jolly who has been presented with the 2019 IPG(Independent Publishers Guild) Patrons Lifetime Achievement Award.

Chris is Managing Director of Jolly Learning Ltd which he founded in 1987, and which has been instrumental in establishing the phonics style of helping children learn to read in English. After tackling the UK market he has tackled new markets around the world, and provided substantial free resources to support literacy in many developing countries across sub-Saharan Africa and south east Asia.

The IPG Patrons’ citation for the Award said: “Jolly Learning has been a pioneer in its area of education, and has made an enormous contribution to literacy over more than three decades. Throughout that time Chris has been a superb advocate for literacy, for independent publishing in general, and for the IPG. He has supported many of his fellow independents, and is a very worthy winner of this Lifetime Achievement Award.”  To read the full press release from the IPG click here.
