Many thanks to Liveryman Peter Day who alerted us to the fact that, during the course of last week when Henry Purcell was the Radio 3 Composer of the Week, there was a programme called Purcell's Venues during which Donald Macleod explored six venue linked to the music and life of Henry Purcell. He mentioned Stationers' Hall including its availability today as a venue for hire for special events!
Click here for the link to the programme and you can listen again for the next 25 days from today's date (24 September 2019).
It is interesting to hear about Purcell whose links with the Hall, especially in the context of his Ode to St Cecelia (one of those represented in our stained glass windows, see image), are very strong, but the vital reference comes starting from 22 minutes into the progamme.
Also available on the BBC site are four other programmes about Purcell, so we should all be experts by the time St Ceceliatide comes around! Book to attend a superb concert and Champagne Reception and Lunch here.
