The Stationers' skiing team is assembling this week for the 2015 Inter-Livery Skiing competition which will take place on 23 and 24 January. Martin Woodhead (Captain ) reports on 17 January that "a huge amount of snow has fallen in the past 24 hours, transforming muddy brown expanses into glorious white pistes".
This year's team comprises the Master, who will be competing against other Masters and past-Masters (no pressure!), backed up by Court members Trevor Fenwick, Martin Woodhead, and Liverymen Rodney Mountford, Oliver Gadsby and Bob Findlay. Whilst they may not be the youngest of teams they are determined to do battle and re-take Lucky, the teddy bear trophy (pictured below) first proposed (and purchased) by the Master for the fastest team of three skiers whose total ages exceed 200.
The Stationers can now achieve a team of 210 years!
This is the fifth year the Stationers' Company has competed in this very enjoyable event and they are looking forward to it very much. We wish them well.
