On Wednesday, 21 January, Stationers' Hall was delighted to welcome the National Calendar Awards back for its annual ceremony. Stands were imported and calendars of all shapes and sizes hung in readiness for the influx of calendar professionals all of whom were obviously keen for their nominations to have won but also enthusiastic to see what everyone else had done too.
There was a good sprinkling of Stationers there including Pat Batley who is part of the organising team, Vanessa Kramer, Jennifer Jones, Annie Hotton and Eddie and Pat Deacon. The guest speaker was Janet Street Porter who was, just as you would expect, loud and very funny but she had taken time to ensure that she was loud and funny about calendars and was at great pains to walk round and view all the
nominations. She stayed a long time mingling with the guests despite the event clashing with the National Television Awards at the O2 which, she revealed, was the second awards ceremony of the evening at which she hadn't won anything! The main photo shows Janet announcing the winner of the People's Choice category - a Kelly Brook Calendar! The second image shows Janet and the Clerk head to head, with Pat Batley, centre!
