The Stationers’ Shine School Media Awards (SHINE)
The Shine School Media Awards was set up in 2011 by the Stationers’ Company, to encourage and recognise pupil-led school publications.
Over 15 years, this has grown to become a free national competition that rewards a diversity of talent from secondary schools across the UK who work on the writing, editing, design and fundraising for a pupil-led newspaper, magazine or multimedia project such as a podcast or digital publication.

The judging panel is full of top professionals from the media world who come together at Stationers’ Hall to judge the entries.
Those short-listed schools are invited to the Awards Ceremony at Stationers’ Hall in July for a morning of workshops followed by a lunch and awards ceremony.
Supported by the Stationers’ Foundation and many other partners, the Shine awards is a great opportunity for all secondary schools to develop their pupil’s creativity and introduce them to the wonderful world of media.
