It makes organisations more competitive, whether they are for-profit or non-profit, and it makes countries more competitive too. The Stationers’ Innovation Excellence Awards celebrate the key role that the our industries play in the UK economy. They give valuable publicity to the entrants and, especially, the winners in each category.  The entry form with full details of how to enter can be accessed here.

Jon Drori is delighted and honoured to have taken over from Liveryman Tony Mash as Chairman of the Company’s Innovation Excellence Awards. Under Tony's leadership, the Awards have become an important annual event showcasing the creativity and business drive within our sectors. Previous winners of the coveted Innovator of the Year Award include Heidelberg’s Omnifire system that can print beautifully onto complex 3D objects, and the Publishers Licensing Society with an online service that automates permissions to re-use extracts from published content. Jon has judges the awards in previous years and knows just how much work goes into picking the winners in each category. This coming year's judges have a wonderful spread of expertise: Liverymen Vida Barr-Jones, Jane Bickerstaffe, Peter Day, Helen Esmonde (Past Master), Nick Steidl (Master), and Tim Webb will be joined by Jonathan Kingsbury of Knowledge Transfer Networks and will be looking for novel ideas and as well as solutions to existing challenges, accompanied by evidence that the innovation has been, or will be, translated into worthwhile benefits – financial or social. Each entry will be evaluated on the novelty of the innovation, its economic performance/potential and/or its likely overall social impact within the UK.

Entries may be for the design of novel products, services or business processes and we welcome nominations from commercial companies, charities, trade associations, individuals, educational institutions and public bodies such as museums, libraries, galleries and archives.

The application form is available from 4 December 2017 and the closing date is 6.00 pm on 6 April 2018. The Awards ceremony, luncheon and accompanying exhibition of the best entrants will be on June 26th 2018.

The main factor affecting the success of the Awards is the number and quality of entrants!  A key aim of the Stationers' Company is to combine tradition and modernity. Please help us develop this modern side of our activities by encouraging your contacts to enter the Awards (feel free to download and pass on the application form, or send the link).
