GIN TASTING WITH A DIFFERENCE
A Livery Committee Event for those who want a little more...
In the 1730's notices could be seen all over London. The message was short and to the point : "Drunk for one penny, Dead drunk for tuppence, Straw for nothing" Why?
The Stationers’ Livery Committee would like to announce a once in a lifetime opportunity to visit the Beefeater Gin Distillery, along with a tasting and tour with special guest Mark Ridgwell. Mark is one of the UK's foremost spirits’ expert and author of Spirits Distilled. He has worked with many leading spirit companies, including Smirnoff, Hennessy, J&B Rare, Ballantines, Courvoisier, Canadian Club, Bols and Hi-ram Walker Liqueurs. He is also known to be responsible for that perfect liqueur, Baileys!
For the first time in 150 years, you will see how the world's most awarded gin is made. Walk through the history of London Gin, smell and touch the botanicals that make Beefeater Gin unique and taste the finished product.
Stationers and their guests will meet at the entrance lobby at 10.15 am. The factory tour will begin at 10.30am prompt, after which we will gather outside at 12.45pm, to walk to The Tommyfield Public House, 185 Kennington Lane London SE11 4EZ for a three-course lunch at 1pm.
This event is strictly limited to 25 people and tickets will be issued on a first come basis. The ticket price is £56 which includes the tour, tasting and lunch (drinks at lunch are not included).
The closing date for applications is Tuesday, 21 March 2017, after which no refunds will be given. We will not be sending out tickets for this event, but you will receive a confirmation by email from Patrick Allen. Please be sure to pay by this date.
