You are invited to The 2024 Brigantes Breakfast, the Northern lunch for City of London Liverymen and their Guests, which will return to the remarkable St George’s Hall in Liverpool
The Brigantes Breakfast provides the perfect opportunity for Liverymen from all City of London Companies to meet
together in the North. Previous venues include the Royal Hall Harrogate, the Tower Ballroom Blackpool and the
Royal Armouries Leeds.
Our Reception in St George’s Hall commences at 11.45, moving into lunch with Principal Guests including The City
Sheriff Alderman Bronek Masojada and retired Old Bailey Judge and best-selling author Her Honour Wendy Joseph
KC. The ‘Welcome to Liverpool’ will be given by The Lord Lieutenant of Merseyside, Mark Blundell, with Grace being
said by the Right Revd John Perumbalath, Bishop of Liverpool.
Dress code is lounge suits. Current Livery Masters will be processing. Badges of Office may be worn.
For those able to arrive early, at 10.30 we shall be in the Concert Room, St George’s Hall for our ever-popular
Brigantes Lecture, showcasing ‘The History of the Cunard Line’ on its 175th Anniversary. Our entertainment will draw
upon Liverpool’s rich theatrical musical heritage. Brigantes member and Past Lord Mayor Alderman Dr Sir Andrew
Parmley will play St George’s Hall’s wonderful organ for us, one of the largest in the UK.
For Liverymen and their guests, the cost for up to four places for this very special day in the Livery calendar is
£155.00 pp, including a £2.00 pp charitable donation. Places will be allocated on a first come first served basis. The
formal proceedings will close at 16.30.
Liverpool is well served by rail from London, Manchester and the north. Direct trains from Euston taking two hours
twenty minutes. St George’s Hall is a mere 150m across the road from Liverpool’s Lime Street station.
For Liverymen and guests wishing to stay overnight, or perhaps a weekend break, there’s no shortage of good hotel
accommodation in Liverpool. We have arranged attractive B&B rates at three hotels close to St George’s Hall – the
newly-opened Radisson Red adjacent to Lime Street Station, The Liverpool Marriott at 1 Queen Square, 5 minutes
walk from the Hall, and the Holiday Inn Liverpool City Centre in Lime Street.
