It was wonderful to welcome Captain Peter Hames back to the Hall to read the citations for the Royal Marine Cadet Awards at last night's New Members' Evening. This year's most successful detachment in the in London and Essex area was the Kingston Detachment under the leadership of Lt Greaves, Sgt Wilde, and Sgt Trovalusci. The detachment has thrived and become the top detachment in the London area for the 3rd year in a row. In March 2015 they will be taking part in the Gibraltar Cup competition against five other detachments to see which is the best detachment in the whole country and we wish them well.  Cadet Sergeant Tony Green from the Hornchurch Detachment was the most outstanding individual Royal Marine Cadet in the London and Essex area.  He won the award as a Corporal and was promoted very recently to Sergeant. His Detachment Commander, SGT (SCC) S Pace says that Tony’s commitment to the Royal Marines Cadets is beyond reproach. His positive attitude and exemplary behaviour sets a fine example to his fellow cadets and he is an outstanding role model. Photos by Sophia Panteli.
