The Paper Gold Medal Award has been awarded for over 50 years and each year companies, associations and individuals are invited to nominate an individual, in recognition of their personal excellence and achievements above and beyond their normal duties, who has made a unique and significant contribution to the UK’s Paper-based Industries.
Whilst the origins of the Paper Gold Medal were focused on the paper manufacturing sector, the Award has now become more inclusive and today is open to nominations from the ever-increasing number of sectors and specialisms that supply an amazing range of products based on paper. These include, but are not exclusively limited to, paper and board manufacturing, printing, newspapers and magazines, direct mail and catalogues, envelopes and stationery, retail and transport packaging, bags and tissues.
Digital and broadcast media are outside the scope of the Award.
The award of the Paper Gold Medal is a prestigious career achievement and the recipient automatically gains membership of the exclusive Gold Medal Association; receiving a substantial solid gold presentation medal as well as a discreet replica medal to be worn on appropriate industry occasions.
Recipients are also invited to write a paper on a topic of their choosing and expertise which will be made available by the Gold Medal Association for publication.
Nominations are invited from Companies, Individuals and Associations which span the industry as well as Medallist Members of the Association. To enter, you and your nominee should be UK-based, in the paper and board sector, cellulose fibre-based sector, or graphics and print sector.
The deadline to enter is Friday 28th March 2025

Entry to the Paper Industry Gold Awards is free, as is attendance at the awards event.

If no candidates are deemed to be of sufficient merit, then the judges may decide that there will be no award.

All entries should be submitted electronically via email to awards@paper.org.uk by downloading the online editable PDF form and attaching any additional supporting information. Alternatively a hard copy can be sent to: Confederation of Paper Industries, 1 Rivenhall Road, Swindon, Wiltshire SN5 7BD.
