NOW SOLD OUT!
Being able to drive sheep over a Thames bridge is an ancient right which every Stationer should exercise at least once in their lifetime.
This year the Stationers’ Livery Committee has been lucky to secure 40 places at the Sheep Drive on Sunday 29 September.
They will be allocated on a first come first served basis. The three time slots are 12.30pm, 12.37pm, 12.44pm and 12.51pm.
The Sheep Drive, which is celebrating its 12th Anniversary, will be led by the Lord Mayor, the Rt Hon Michael Mainelli – and a special celebrity guest, still to be announced. Southwark Bridge will be closed for the day to allow Livery Company members, their family and friends to drive sheep over the Thames.
At the same time, there will be a full-scale Livery Fair on Queen’s Street Place at the main entrance to the Sheep Drive, showcasing the best in wool and craftsmanship, from 10am to 4pm.
This special event is once again in aid of the Lord Mayor’s Appeal and the Woolmen’s Charity and every Stationer who takes part will also be donating £10 to our Hall charity.
Once all our 40 places are allocated, you will be contacted to advise you of your time slot. You’re advised to book right away as demand is likely to be heavy.
Places are open to all Stationers and their family and friends at £65 per person + £10 donation to the Stationers’ Hall Charity.
This will entitle each participant to a place on the drive and a commemorative certificate signed by the Lord Mayor and the Master Woolman. It also offers a fantastic photo opportunity!
Following the drive, there will be drinks / lunch at the Little Ship Club at each individual’s own expense. There are also numerous food outlets around Southwark Bridge.
To book your place, please contact Dave Rosewell the Livery Committee treasurer, on dave.rosewell@icloud.com and he will send you the bank details.
Dave will also need your full name as you would like it to appear on your certificate!
