The River By Night Walking Tour
Join Fellow Stationer and City Guide Mike Daly for an entertaining and informative walk along the river.
The River By Night is a chance to see a different face of the river. As we walk along the Thames you’ll find the whole atmosphere is different in the dark. This is also a chance to admire the Illuminated River Project, work of artist Leo Villareal, bathing each of the bridges in a unique and subtly changing light display.
As we walk we’ll also talk about the history of the City in the views and buildings around us, and the buildings that were there in centuries past. The lights and the reflections are never the same twice here, being affected by the weather, the tide, and now also by the work of Villareal.
The Illuminated River Project is an art installation on a grand scale. Privately financed, it lights up London’s bridges from Albert Bridge to Tower Bridge. On this walk we will see the City half, from Blackfriars to Tower Bridge. The walk lasts about 90 minutes and we’ll finish near London Bridge and Monument.
Dress Code: Smart Casual. As it is a walking tour, comfortable shoes and appropriate outdoor clothing are recommended.
