PRIVATE VIEWING We have been able to secure access to exceptionally rare books including the ‘Wicked Bible’, the ‘Pica’ and Catherine of Aragon’s personal prayer book. Lunch will be taken in the beautiful and ancient Grays Court in the shadow of the Minster. After lunch a choice of visiting the Minster or Quacks Printers, featured in the Pica story, to view their historic and rare Arab and Albion letterpress machines.

One of very few surviving copies of the ultimate ‘typo’ – a disaster for a Past Master of the Stationers’ Company, Robert Barker. Printed in 1631, it leaves the word “not” from the seventh commandment. He was fined £300 (equivalent to £63,097 in 2023). Sotheby's sold a copy for $56,250.

Travellers by train will be met at York Station at 10.32am (King’s Cross 8.30am - arrive back 6.58pm). After booking, Lucie will be in touch to find out if you are making your own way to the York Minster Library for 11.00am or if you plan to get the train.
