The office team gathered in the courtyard today for a small ceremony and two minute silence for Remembrance Day. The silence was followed by a short speech by the Clerk and the Master then layed down a wreath by the WW1 memorial plaque outside the hall.
In a Freedom Ceremony held just before the New Members’ Evening last night the Company welcomed 19 new Freemen. Of these, eight were 2014 Bursary Recipients who have now finished their Masters degrees and the others were applicants with industry-related backgrounds. The Court Room was packed with witnesses, sponsors, mentors, tutors, mums, dads, brothers sisters and significant others! It was a very happy and vibrant occasion much enjoyed by all. Liveryman David Houseman, Chairman of the Golf Committee, reports on the Stationers' Foundation Golf Classic held last month.
Once more the Foundation Golf Classic was held at Worplesdon and in glorious sunshine. Seventeen teams of four set forth to play on this beautiful Surrey heathland course.
As well as the professional clips we have had taken at recent events we have also been experimenting with video clips taken on a video camera by our Marketing Intern, Iqraa Hassan. She has uploaded some of them to our YouTube page here including snippets from the recent Livery Lunch with its cloathing ceremonies. It is good to have these records and we are grateful to Iqraa for her efforts which also enabled those in the Stock Room to see and hear what was going on in the Hall via a live feed.
