The Stationers’ Company welcomes applications for membership from people who live outside the United Kingdom.

The categories of membership are set out on our Individual Membership page (where you can find a link to the application form in the section headed Joining the Stationers' Company). International applicants may apply for membership as Freemen and proceed, where appropriate, to become Liverymen of the Company.

International Freeman - Maurice Schijns, Key Account Manager, Tombow Pen & Pencil GmbH

Schijns Maurice 67433

"As international key account manager at Tombow Pen & Pencil GmbH I became responsible for the UK business in March 2012. I noticed very quickly that our industry in the UK is driven in a very traditional way through networking and relationships.

I joined the Stationers’ Company because I believe in these traditions, have a passion for our industry and like to be connected to a lot of nice and interesting individuals which actually make our industry work. In addition to this I wanted to support the aims of our Stationers’ Company, particularly the educational initiatives and charities.

Being a part as Freeman of our Stationers’ Company gives me the opportunity to attend debates, lectures and other special events where I meet interesting people from not only our OP industry but other allied trades on a regular base. The Stationers’ Company has always given me a warm welcome, which helped me turning business relationships into friendships."

International Liveryman  Erin Wirz - Sales Manager Avery Dennison

Erin Wirz

Joining the Stationers’ Company has given me the opportunity to celebrate my love for the City of London and to meet interesting people from my industry at the same time. I am still fascinated by the insights I have gained to my own sector (packaging) and by how much I have learned about inter-linking sectors too.

In our business lives, we tend to focus on our very own niche. Being part of the Stationers' Company  family will show you how the puzzle fits all together.

In addition to that I enjoy supporting our various charities. I was a mentor at our school for two years before taking over the responsibility to coordinate the mentoring programme this year. It feels great to be part of and help to preserve an institution with such a rich and glorious heritage.

Flexible Membership Procedures

We realise that is is not as easy for international applicants to visit Stationers' Hall as it is for UK applicants.  We will be flexible on briefing and interview dates and times and it is possible for both to be done via a video link on the internet.
