Since moderating our April 11 panel “Artificial Intelligence and Its Impact on Intellectual Property Rights,” he has been speaking at events large and small about the impact of AI on copyright, including participating in an invitation-only roundtable event at the United States Patent and Trademark Office on record keeping and disclosure requirements for the use of copyrighted materials in AI.
. Roy’s company, Copyright Clearance Center, announced the first of its kind voluntary collective license for internal corporate reuse of content for AI. Roy is also chairing the planning committee for the annual meeting of the STM trade association on the theme of “Advancing trusted research in the AI era.”
