LECTURE: MAUREEN BELL AND TOM LOCKWOOD: ORDERED THAT THE CLERKE HENCEFORWARD SHALL KEEPE A WAST BOOKE….

7 OCTOBER 2024

Lecture: Maureen Bell and Tom Lockwood: Ordered That the Clerke henceforward shall keepe a Wast Booke….

The Library and Archives Committee alerts members to this talk at the Society of Antiquaries on 17 December 5.30pm – 7pm which identifies and explores ‘The Wast Register booke for entring of Coppies’ that the Stationers’ Company started to keep on 7 April 1687.

Archive and they will locate that document among our Company’s records, and show the ways in which it provides a new opportunity both to investigate the practices of the Stationers and to cast new light on Restoration authors and their work.
