Freeman Joanna Bevan launches Speak Street London Walking Tours

Joanna joined the Stationers’ as a free(wo)man back in June. She’s the director of Speak Street a not for profit organisation and publisher, on a mission to support refugee learners improve their English skills and confidence. Speak Street offers English classes across a range of London venues including community centre, homeless shelters, workplaces, and art galleries.  She faced a problem familiar to many social entrepreneurs: how do we publish books for readers who want them but can’t afford to buy them.

Do you, or does anyone you know, live with dementia, bipolar, stroke, brain injury or visual impairments or challenges?

This is a calendar that has been designed for everyone – carers, family members, visiting carers or those cared for. It was developed with support from the Stationers’ Foundation and has been trialled successfully by the Alzheimers Society (Derbyshire). It shows one day at a time – you simply enter what is important to YOU on a particular day (events, appointments, anniversaries etc) – then turn over a new leaf each day !
