A sea of scaffolding enfolds the Stock Room!
Essential maintenance work to re-slate the roof of the East wing has been in the planning for the last two years, thanks to the continued diligent work of the Heritage Committee, and now the scaffolding is up and the work in
progress. The roof slates are being replaced (and the wooden roof beams checked over) and while the scaffolding is
in place the building is being cleaned, the paintwork refreshed and a safety system is being installed so that the Hall staff can clean the gutters safely!
The work is scheduled to finish by 25 September and everyone is keeping their fingers crossed that Members will be able to visit the Hall after that to see what a strong, smart, new (weatherproof!) roof the Hall has!
