9 DECEMBER 2020
On 8 December 2020, a contingent of the North American-based Stationers met via Zoom for a regional, Holiday get together.
Approximately half of the growing number of American and Canadian Stationers were able to gather to discuss the year, its impact on their businesses and plans for 2021, and share some holiday cheer. The US members discussed upcoming events, including a discussion of Copyright to be held in March, details of which will be announced soon.
Special guest Dr Ruth Frendo, the Stationers' Company's archivist, joined to share some highlights from the Company's archives - before the archives are closed to accommodate the renovations at the Hall. Ruth very thoughtfully provided a tour of gems such as Liber A and other foundational documents, but focused much of the tour on highlights related to the Pilgrims' voyage on The Mayflower and the involvement that Stationers' played in the early American colonies. Member of the Court Tony Mash also attended and discussed the work the US Foundation supports, but sadly did not bring his piano to lead a sing along as he did for the overall Stationers' holiday event. Perhaps next year!
In the photo you can see Ruth holding one of the Almanacs up to the webcam.
