YOMPING ROYAL MARINES

On Friday, 8 July some 17 Royal Marines arrived in London having yomped 56 miles on foot from Windsor to the City of London, to commemorate the 40th anniversary of the Falklands conflict, in which yomping played such an important role.
The Company was due to welcome them in the Courtyard in front of Stationers' Hall but such was their speed that they arrived at 7.00 am, an hour earlier than expected, and the Master and Clerk therefore joined them at Plaisterers' Hall which was their final destination and where the photo was taken.
