Mark Beilby became a Freeman of the Stationers in July 2024. He is the co-founder and chairman of educational technology company Vevox, an engagement tool that enhances online, hybrid, and face-to-face sessions with options for Polling, Questions and Surveys. Vevox is expanding rapidly in the US market.
Vevox https://www.vevox.com stands for "Value Every Voice". It is downloadable onto any smartphone or accessible via the web. Vevox is a simple, intuitive platform with the potential to transform virtual and remote meetings, Microsoft Team or Zoom sessions, and in the room lectures into compelling interactive events. It enables lecturers and training managers to create live polls in seconds, the audience to vote immediately and then watch the results arrive in real-time. This means lecturers, trainers and teachers can test students’ understanding.
Respondents can answer anonymously to enable inclusive involvement and accurate insight into understanding and views. Question and answer sessions can also be pushed out to the floor and audiences can share ideas, add ‘likes’ and give feedback – all overseen by the presenter or a moderator, whether "in the room" or remote, who can manage the proceedings. It gives the voiceless a voice. It informs decision making with genuine, honest opinion.
Vevox is deployed for internal communication by large corporations such as GSK, Barclays and Nestle and by lecturers, by means of an enterprise-wide sale, in 40% of UK and Ireland universities and colleges. It is currently gaining considerable commercial traction amongst US universities and colleges. A Vevox US operation was established in early 2024.
