21 OCTOBER 2021
On Tuesday 5 October, our Liveryman and Apprentice Ambassador, Anne Ashworth attended a virtual careers fair at the Stationers Crown Woods Academy. Present were 22 parents and 32 students listening to Anne talk about apprenticeships plus someone from the University of Greenwich talking about student finance and information on UCAS.
The students asked some really pertinent questions demonstrating their keen interest in a career in the publishing, media and communications industries. The appeal of apprenticeships is growing although Anne did stress the competitive nature of the recruitment process. She advised the students to not just consider degree apprenticeships but to look at others at all levels where the job role interests them as this will be the foot on the ladder of their career. To learn about a job whilst doing it will open up opportunities and further learning.
