Thinking of you Week - 18-24 September 2023

Thinking of You Week is promoted by the Greeting Card Association and aims to remind everyone about the joy of sending and receiving cards. A handwrittten message in a card is a pleasure to send and a joy to receive. So, particularly in this week dedicated to messages of all sorts in greeting cards, why not reach out with a card to someone. It doesn't need to mark a birthday or a wedding or any of the traditional events which require a card - it can be as simple as "Hello"!

Later this month, as part of the Wren300 celebrations, St Bride’s Church will play host to the world-premiere of WREN – ORNAMENT FOR ETERNITY, a dramatized celebration of the life of Sir Christopher Wren, featuring music from the St Bride’s Choir and Endelienta Baroque, along with poetry read by journalist and broadcaster, Giles Coren.
St Bride’s would be delighted if our good friends from the Stationers could join us for what promises to be a truly wonderful evening.

The weather on the evening of 3 August was remarkably kind given the squalls of the previous days. Freemen, Liverymen and friends gathered at the London Pétanque Club (LCP) in Vauxhall Pleasure Gardens for the 2023 Inter Livery Pétanque Tournament which was organised by the Worshipful Company of Distillers.

Innovation Excellence Awards Honours Board

The Master and Court Assistants Jon Drori, Linda Drew and Jill Jones all of whom are current or past Chairmen of the Stationers’ Innovation Excellence Awards Committee, were delighted to see the Innovation Excellence Awards Honours Board up in the third floor meeting rooms at Stationers’ Hall. This board recognises all the winners of ‘Innovator of the Year’ since 2014. We are looking forward to the announcement of the 2023 Innovator of the Year which will come at the Awards Ceremony and Lunch at Stationers’ Hall on 25 September. New CEO for Corporate Member PLS

Members will have read that Sarah Faulder is retiring as CEO of Corporate Member PLS and now they are able to announce that their new CEO will be Tom West who will take up the position on 1 November 2023. For full details please read their press release here.
